I had problems accessing my VPN from win7. The connection stuck for a while on “Verifying user name and password” and then quit with an error.
This is the solution:
WIN7 normally defaults to “Automatic” VPN type, this can be problematic if the VPN does not tell Windows what type of protocol to use.
Check with your VPN provider if you are supposed to use for example PPTP – protocol and select that in the security tab of the vpn properties.
